Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications ने Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Online Engagement Schedule-II, July-2026 के तहत Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) और Dak Sevak पदों के लिए ऑनलाइन आवेदन आमंत्रित किए हैं। 10वीं पास पात्र उम्मीदवार 2 सितंबर से 21 सितंबर 2026 तक आवेदन कर सकते हैं। चयन Class 10 के अंकों से तैयार system-generated merit list के आधार पर होगा।

Responsibilities

Branch Postmaster (BPM): Branch Post Office के day-to-day postal operations, India Post Payments Bank related services, customer service, product/service promotion तथा prescribed counter operations का संचालन।

Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM): Stamps और stationery की sale, mail conveyance एवं doorstep delivery, IPPB transactions और BPM को Branch Post Office operations में सहायता।

Dak Sevak: Mail handling, conveyance/delivery, stamps एवं stationery related work, postal counter assistance, IPPB related services तथा Department द्वारा सौंपे गए अन्य postal duties।

Skills

Local language knowledge, computer knowledge, cycling knowledge, basic postal/customer-service ability, ability to use smartphone/laptop/handheld devices

Working Hours

Minimum 4 hours and maximum 5 hours per day, as applicable under GDS service conditions.

Experience Requirements

No prior professional experience specified. Candidates must satisfy the educational, age, local-language, computer, cycling and other eligibility conditions prescribed in the official notification.

Important Information

India Post GDS कोई regular Central Government employee appointment नहीं है। GDS, Union civil services के बाहर Civil Posts के धारक होते हैं और उनकी service conditions GDS Rules के अनुसार संचालित होती हैं। सामान्यतः GDS को प्रतिदिन न्यूनतम 4 और अधिकतम 5 घंटे काम करना होता है। BPM को आवश्यकता पड़ने पर Branch Post Office के लिए निर्धारित स्थान पर accommodation की व्यवस्था भी करनी पड़ सकती है। Selection के लिए कोई written examination या interview नहीं है; merit Class 10 marks के आधार पर तैयार की जाती है।
